About
I am a professional writer and a filmmaker. Above all, I am a storyteller. Whether I’m writing a World War II drama, a romantic comedy, or a thriller, my goal is to entertain, enlighten and surprise my readers. I write non-fiction, too. I write non-fiction to inspire, inform and help others. I am always learning, always stretching my boundaries creatively, and I consider myself a work in progress. I’m like a three-headed hydra, pulled in three different genres. (I’ve tried to make myself focus on one genre. But I finally gave up that battle). If you’re curious about where my creative endeavors are leading me, Click one of my links below to find out.

Published Author
My articles have been published in national and international newsletters and magazines. (Printed in Seattle, Virginia, Colorado, Canada, Silicon Valley, New Zealand and online). My creative non-fiction book, All I Need To Know In Life I Learned From Romance Novels, received favorable mention in People Magazine, Mode Magazine New York, Milwaukee Sentinel Journal, Library Journal, Romantic Times Magazine, St. Petersberg Florida News, National Women’s Review, Teheran News and many others. My agent is hard at work selling my mainstream thriller novel, while I’m working on new writing projects.
Speaker
I’ve been a workshop speaker at the Learning Annex in San Francisco, the California Writer’s Club in San Francisco and Silicon Valley, the Romance Writers of America National Conference (Chicago and Washington, DC) and the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Romance Writers of America. My zesty topics have focused on writing creative non-fiction, using screenwriting techniques with fiction projects, and selling that first book. I speak to encourage others and offer tips that incite writers to reach their goals. I also speak on grant writing topics. Check out my Events Page to see upcoming speaking events.
Filmmaker
I launched Mi Casa Su Casa Productions in 2007 to participate in the 48 Hour Film Project. As with all my writing, Mi Casa Su Casa Productions focuses on short films that entertain, enlighten and surprise viewers. I have produced and written one short film and written and directed three short films. I participated as a script supervisor on a feature length horror film and as an assistant director on a short thriller film.
Grantwriter
Words are my thing. I may as well put my talent to work for non-profits I’m passionate about. I raise tens of thousands of dollars every year for kids, animals, conserving our planet and the arts. I also host a Radio Show at BlogTalkRadio.com/GrantWhisperer to help others write grants for organizations they are wild about. My web site the Grant Whisperer also offers grantwriting advice, tips, and secrets.
